Garden Walk Spring Glen

Spring Glen is a walkable suburban neighborhood with approximately 2,989 residents. The boundaries include Skiff Street (North), Hartford Turnpike (East), Waite Street (South) and Lake Whitney/ Mill River (West). Inspired by the community garden walks that happen throughout the country (the oldest, since 1959, takes place in the Chicago neighborhood of Sheffield). Founder, Judith Clark thought this would be the perfect Master Gardener project, as there are many enthusiastic gardeners in Spring Glen. In 2025, we received a generous grant from the CT Master Gardeners Association (CMGA).

Mission/ Vision:

1) Community Building-to connect with fellow gardeners and to celebrate the positive things happening our neighborhood.

2) Promoting horticulture-by relishing the aesthetic beauty of gardening. No garden is too small or insignificant and all are welcome to participate.

3) Experiential learning-by the sharing of gardens, gardening techniques and practices.
